Responsibilities
Karrar joined the UNSW RNA Institute right after his PhD to be a research assistance and instruments custodian. He ensures a smooth run of research laboratory by aiding research students/users and maintaining the instruments.
Background
He always like to learn new things in life and seeking new skills in his career. After his mater, he worked in different disciplines, but they never quenched his thirst and passion for gaining new knowledge. At the second year of his work in pathology laboratory, he finally decided to quit the job and continue his PhD in Chemistry. He worked on design and synthesis of protein-based peptide hydrogels for tissue engineering. His project heavily involved synthesis, purification, and characterisations of peptides. One of the most exciting parts of his project was to work with human cells and closely observe the interaction between peptide hydrogels and cells.
In his me-time, he goes in deep conversations about almost an abandoned topic, “Purpose of Life”!
